PlayTrail

Making mudpies and memories

There's a special kind of joy in playing outdoors, surrounded by nature's wonders. At Boxerwood, kids under 7 get to experience this firsthand through our iconic PlayTrail. Even though it's called a trail, it's more like a natural playground full of awesome adventure. Kids will find a mud kitchen to make their most imaginative dishes. There's a sandpit with shovels where little paleontologists can dig for bones. Children can also play hide and seek through tiny House Mountain.

The PlayTrail is a place to let imaginations run wild, whether it's next to Dale's Creek or in the kid-sized bird house. This area was designed and built by the founders of Boxerwood Education Association (BEA). It sees more action than any other place at Boxerwood and receives regular repairs, upgrades, and new attractions. Adults can relax while their little ones explore. Through its whimsical installations, the PlayTrail cultivates a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. It's more than a playground; it's a space that nurtures creativity, fosters a love for exploration, and encourages a lifelong bond with the world that sustains us all.

The PlayTrail features are only designed to endure for the gentle play of children age seven and under. Help us keep this space safe for our youngest visitors. Bigger kids are invited to explore the Fairy Forest and the rest of the garden with adult supervision. We thank you for your cooperation.
